18 March: Early Bird Meeting Review

7 members and 2 guests gathered for another fun filled Early Bird Express meeting at the Windsor Gardens with Helen Burton taking the lead as Toastmaster of the day.  Nick Satchel treated us to his CC1 of comparing his life's journey to a hike; Debby Satchel shared with us how to grow our 'African Money Trees' in a lively CC6 and Ruth Cort enthralled everyone with an East African Fable in her AC5.

6 March: Contest Meeting Review

The caliber of the speeches and evaluations at our contest meeting tonight was absolutely astounding, but unfortunately each contest can only have one winner. Congratulations to Francois Roux who won the English International contest . Francois, we will be cheering you on at the Area Contest! Also a big thumbs up to Claire Strobach who came close second and continues to grow and flourish as a speaker.

Can Two Oceans Produce Another Winner?

Two Oceans Toastmasters will be holding its Annual International Speech contest on Wednesday 6th March at the Fish Hoek Civic Centre at 19h00.

Last year, Kay Price-Lindsay did Two Oceans proud when she went from winning the club contest to representing Southern Africa at the International Speaking Contest Semi-Finals in Orlando, Florida in the USA. 21 Feb: Advanced Meeting Review

On Thursday 21st February we hosted our first ever Advanced meeting. It was well attended with 10 members and 7 guests in total and gave a wonderful opportunity for advanced speakers to take the stage. Aaron Blanchard did an outstanding job of organising the meeting and then pulling off a brilliant first time Toastmaster role! 18 Feb: Early Bird Meeting Review

Our Early Bird Express meeting was a small but festive one with Neville Arends completing his CC3 and Helen Burton being Toastmaster. The rest of the meeting was dedicated to an hilarious round of Table Topics run by Helen Burton on justifying rather strange new home choices (carpark in Koeberg or Kalkbay Habour Wall)! Verity Price then challenged everyone with some pretty stiff proverbs which made for good practice for competition style impromptu speaking.
