9 Jan - Meeting Review

Posted by Theo Potgieter on Saturday, January 12, 2013 Under: Meetings
A big thank you to all members & guests who helped to make last nights meeting a resounding sucsess !

We had the privilege to induct Ingrid Kingon as a new member. This brings us one step closer to our DCP goal of President’s Distinguished since we now have 4 points in the bag.  Every members achievement helps us towards our goal of 10/10 points by June.

We had 5 guests at the meeting, two of whom have expressed interest in joining and Dawid Mocke was voted in a member and will be inducted during the February meeting.

As always the speeches were of the high standard that we are used to at Two Oceans and made for a wonderful start to 2013.

  • Dawid Mocke CC1 entertained us with his terrifying moment with a whale!
  • Claire Strohbach (CC7) is steaming ahead towards her CC with a very educational speach on the dangers of nut allergies
  • Mallorie Lee  (CC3) entertained us with a thought provoking speech on being iniated into adulthood
  • Roscoe Louw (CC2) shared his secret for sucsess with us.
  • Melanie Steyn (AC2) entertained us with a Bill Clinton speech.
During Table Topics Marion had fun with various phrases which kept us all wonderfully entertained.

I wish to congratulate the award winners of the evening:

  • Best speaker : Mallorie Lee
  • Best evaluator : Verity Price
  • Best table Topics : Ruth Cort
  • Leadership : Shared between Marion & Dale.
Throughout the evening Babette Davisson did a stirling job as Toastmaster of the evening and kept a tight rein over the evening. We closed just after 22h00.

See you at the our next meeting on 6th Feb!
