23 April 2013: And the winners are.....

Last night the best of the best of Area D1 met to battle it out at the International Speech and Evaluations Contest. The contest was held at the Wynberg Old Boys Pavillion and was brilliantly organised by Ryan Skews of Good Hope Toastmasters.

Two Oceans exceeded all expectations when we took first place in both the speech and evaluation contests! Francois Roux with this speech 'Joe The Obstacle Jumper' had the audience rivetted with his moving yet humourous speech about his grandfather. There were more than a few tears in the crowd and lot of laughs.  Lorne Sulcas (who kindly stood in for Verity Price who was unable to compete) went on to do the club proud with an excellent evaluation of the demo speech.

When the winners were announced the room went wild. It was a goosebump moment to know that Two Oceans will once again be represented at the Division Contest, not only with best speech but now also best evaluator!  Our HUGEST congratulations go to Francois and Lorne and we cant wait to see them speak up at the Division Contest on the 15th of May!
